The diary that
writes you back.

Biography is a life told from the end — the dots only connect when you look back. But someone has to lay the dots down first. That's what Arc is for.

Connecting the dots — in reverse

You've already lived this.

Look back far enough and the hardest moments turn out to have been the turn. We just don't do this often enough — and the details go first.

You didn't get the job.It led you somewhere better.
The heartbreak that flattened you.It made room for the right person.
The loss you never got over.It taught you to treasure the ordinary days.

How Arc works

Two minutes a day. Years of thread.

1

Say it, don't type it

Talk for two minutes before bed. Arc transcribes it. Type instead if you'd rather — both work.

2

Arc notices

It reads across everything you've written and surfaces the threads — the intention you keep restating, the thing you finally came through — always quoting you back.

3

Your story, as a book

Arc writes your life so far into readable chapters anchored on your defining moments. Open it any time; it grows as you do.

The bright lines

What Arc will never do.

  • Never invent anything. Every reflection is drawn from your own entries and quotes them back. If Arc can't cite it, Arc doesn't say it.
  • Never flatter you. It isn't a hype machine and it isn't a therapist. It reflects; it doesn't diagnose.
  • Never sell your diary. Your entries are private to your account. Arc doesn't sell your data or train public models on it.
  • Never hide the AI. Arc uses Anthropic and OpenAI to transcribe and reflect. You're asked to agree before any of it runs, and you can withdraw in Profile at any time.

Questions

Before you start.

Is my diary private?

Yes. Entries are stored against your own account and are not readable by other users. Arc doesn't sell your data or use your diary to train public models. To transcribe and reflect, entries are sent to Anthropic and OpenAI as processors — Arc tells you this in the app and asks you to agree first, and you can withdraw consent in Profile at any time.

Does Arc make things up?

No. That's the core design rule. Every reflection, thread and chapter is drawn from your own entries and quotes them back to you. If Arc can't point at something you actually wrote, it doesn't say it.

Do I have to type?

No. Arc is voice-first — talk for a couple of minutes and it transcribes. Typing works just as well if you prefer it.

How is this different from a normal journaling app?

Most journaling apps are storage: you write, it saves, and the entries sit there. Arc reads back across everything you've captured and does something with it — surfacing recurring threads, marking the moments you came through, and writing your life so far into readable chapters. The diary is the input; the biography is the output.

I already have decades of story. Can I bring it in?

Yes. Paste or import the story so far and Arc will pick up the thread — the turning points and the events that shaped you — so the biographer is useful from day one instead of after a year of entries.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes. Arc runs on iPhone and iPad, and requires iOS 15.1 or later.

What do I get without paying?

Capture is free forever — unlimited voice and text entries, transcription, search, and the goals you set and meet. Your first weekly reflection is free too, so you can see what the biographer actually does before deciding anything.
